Carbon and nitrogen stable isotope variations in leaves of two grapevine cultivars (Chasselas and Pinot noir): Implications for ecophysiological studies

چکیده

We investigated the within- and between-leaf variability in carbon nitrogen isotope composition (?13C ?15N) total (TN) content two grapevine cultivars (Vitis vinifera cv. Chasselas Pinot noir) field-grown under rain-fed conditions. The within-leaf was studied discs sampled from base-to-tip left right regions margin to midrib. intra- interplant by comparing leaves at different positions along shoot (basal, median, apical). In both cultivars, a decrease ?13C base tip observed, which is line with an upward gradient of stomatal density chlorophyll concentration. Less important, but still significant differences were observed between discs. leaf TN ?15N values differed showed smaller variations than values, no systematic spatial trends. intraleaf ?13C, ?15N, suggest that behavior, CO2 fixation, concentrations, chemical components heterogeneous leaves. At canopy scale, apical had less 13C more 15N basal leaves, indicating their photosynthetic capacity remobilizations old, senescing younger Overall, this study demonstrates patchiness species-specificity assimilation fractionation. These findings care must be taken not overinterpret foliar studies based on fragmented material as markers physiological biochemical responses environmental factors.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

patterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment

although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...

postnatal studies of bats (pipistrellus kuhlii and miniopterus schreibersii) & histomorphology and histochemistry studies of organs and diseases of (neurergus microspilotus and n. kaiseri)

1. to determine whether difference in birth body mass influenced growth performance in pipistrellus kuhlii we studied a total of 12 captive-born neonates. bats were assigned to two body mass groups: light birth body mass (lbw: 0.89 ± 0.05, n=8) and heavy birth body mass (hbw: 1.35 ± 0.08, n=4). heavier body mass at birth was associated with rapid postnatal growth (body mass and forearm length) ...

Pinot blanc and Pinot gris arose as independent somatic mutations of Pinot noir

Somatic mutation is a natural mechanism which allows plant growers to develop new cultivars. As a source of variation within a uniform genetic background, it also represents an ideal tool for studying the genetic make-up of important traits and for establishing gene functions. Layer-specific molecular characterization of the Pinot family of grape cultivars was conducted to provide an evolutiona...
